Shatabdi Roy is a leading actress of Bengali cinema. During his time, he dominated the Bengali film world. His pairing with Tapas Pal was very acceptable to the general audience. He was born on October 5, 1968 in Agarpara to Shailen and Neelima Roy. Shatabdi Roy completed her secondary education in 1985 from Sarojini High School and then she got admission in “Yogamaya Devi College”, a women’s college affiliated to Calcutta University.

Shatabdi Roy entered the film world with the movie “Atank”, this movie was directed by Tapan Sinha and this movie was released in 1986. Prior to this, he acted in a movie called “Tina” directed by Dinen Dasgupta, which was not released. After that, he made a place in the hearts of the general audience by acting in various popular films like Gurudakshina, Apan Amar Apan etc.
In 2009, he directed the science fiction film Friend, in which he acted. But that movie didn’t get that kind of response.
Through a cultural organization called “Shatabdi Foundation” he works in various cultural works. Her husband is a marketing executive. His two children are Samyaraj (Tojo) and Mriganka Bandhopadhyay.
